Plagiarism Policy

  1. Plagiarism is not acceptable by ‘Bangladesh Journal of Pain’. Every submission will be checked for copy & paste/similarity.

  2. The overall Similarity Index must be below 25%, and it must be below 5% from a single source.

  3. The manuscript was extracted by the author from his/her MD/FCPS/M.Phil. Or Ph.D. thesis must be accompanied by a declaration of the “Title of the thesis”, “Supervisor name”, “Department and University name”, and “year of submission” and duly signed by the author and the supervisor.

  4. Plagiarism, data fabrication and image manipulation are not allowed.

  5. Plagiarism includes copying text, ideas, images, or data from another source, even from your own publications, without giving any credit to the original source.

  6. Reuse of text that is copied from another source must be between quotes and the original source must be cited. If a study's design or the manuscript's structure or language has been inspired by previous works, these works must be explicitly cited.

  7. If plagiarism is detected during the peer review process, the manuscript may be rejected. If plagiarism is detected or reported after publication, we may publish a correction or retract the paper.

  8. Image files must not be manipulated or adjusted in any way that could lead to misinterpretation of the information provided by the original image source. 

  9. Irregular manipulation includes: 1) introduction, enhancement, moving, or removing features from the original image; 2) grouping of images that should be presented separately (e.g., from different parts of the same gel, or different gels); or 3) modifying the contrast, brightness or color balance to obscure, eliminate or enhance some information.

  10. If irregular image manipulation is identified and confirmed during the peer review process, we may reject the manuscript. If irregular image manipulation is identified and confirmed after publication, we may correct or retract the paper.

  11. All matters related to plagiarism reported after the publication of the paper will be investigated by journal ethical committee, which may decide to send the paper to the original authors for correction and republishing, or to retract it altogether.

  12. The decisions of the journal ethical committee will be final and cannot be challenged in any court of law.
