Details of the preparing the manuscript

Arrange the manuscript in this order:

1. Cover letter

Use the cover letter to explain why your paper should be published in The BJPain rather than elsewhere. What are the important findings of the research work and what would be the future implication of the study the corresponding author must declare if any competing interest present.

2. Title page

The title page should include the followinginformation:

• Manuscript Title: title should be brief, succinct and not too large.

• Author names and affiliation. Name of authors should be written in full, first name followed by surname. Academic degrees may be listed for each author (choose highest degrees). A superscript number should be placed after each name to refer to the respective affiliation that must be listed below. Provide the full postal address, contact number, and email address for each author.

• Corresponding author information. Please ensure that any changes to the contact details of the corresponding author must immediately be notified to the Editorial Office

• Authors role must be present in title page and not to be presented in declaration section.

3. Abstract

The abstract must be structured (Background, Methods, Results and Conclusion), and the word limit is determined by the relevant article type.

4. Trial registration

If your article reports the results of a health care intervention on human participants, it must be registered in an appropriate registry and the registration number and date of registration should be stated in the last part of the abstract. If it was not registered prospectively (before enrollment of the first participant), you should include the words 'retrospectively registered'. Trial registration number or statement must be present in the methods section.

5. Keywords

At the end of the abstract, please include an alphabetical list of 5 (maximum) keywords and subjects for indexing. Choose the keywords carefully as these will be used for subsequent retrieval.

6. Main text

Main text should be formed according to the article type. However, an original report must contain following points: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Limitations of the study, Conclusion and Future implications of the study.

• The introduction should explain the rationale behind the current study, placing the research topic and study within the context of the current research landscape. Authors should summarize and cite previous research relevant to the current study and highlight the gap in knowledge being filled by the present research. The final paragraph should clearly state the primary and, if applicable, secondary aims of the study. Any variables, used in the study, which do not have universal definition should be operationalized. The introduction to a paper should not exceed more than 400-500 words and is double-spaced.

• The ‘Methods’ section (or sections: e.g. Participants, Materials, Procedure) should contain a clear and concise description and when needed, justification of the conditions and procedures of the study as well as analytical tools or methodology used. All excluded observations, independent variables/ manipulations and dependent variables/ measures must be reported and authors must explain how the sample size was determined. This section should not contain more than 500-700 words. In case of clinical trials either prospectively registered or retrospectively registered must be declared in methods section.

• The ‘Results’ section should present the collected data and analysis. Results for all measures should be reported in a concise, straightforward manner, using tables or figures when appropriate. Duplication of information that is presented in tables or figures should be minimal in the text and all results should be reported in the text rather than figure captions. Authors should be mindful to exclude interpretation and discussion of the findings or any details related to methodology from this section. The ‘Results’ section should not contain more than 300-400 words.

• The purpose of the ‘Discussion’ section is to interpret and describe the significance of your findings in light of what was already known about the research problem being investigated and to explain any new understanding or fresh insights about the problem after you have taken the findings into consideration. The discussion will always connect to the introduction by way of the research questions or hypotheses you posed and the literature you reviewed but it does not simply repeat or rearrange the introduction. The discussion should always explain how your study has moved the reader's understanding of the research problem forward from where you left them at the end of the introduction. Avoid un-qualified statements and conclusions which are not supported by the data. This section should not contain more than 300-400 words.

• Limitations: Limitations should be brief and must have an explanation how the author have tried to mitigate the limitations.

• Conclusion: A conclusion is not merely a summary of the main topics covered or a re-statement of your research problem but a synthesis of key points and, if applicable, where you recommend new areas for future research.

• Future implications: In this section, the author must state that why the study isimportant and what will be the implications of this study findings.

7. Declaration section

The declaration section should contain funding statement, ethical approval statement, acknowledgments, conflict of interest statement, and other relevant statement according to the nature of the manuscript. The chronology to write declaration section following points should be used using this order:

8. References

A total number of references more than 50 are discouraged and a number of references depends on article type as mentioned earlier. Number of references consecutively in order of their appearance in the text. Identify references in text, tables and legends by Arabic numerals as superscripts. References cited only in tables or in legends to figures should be numbered in accordance with the sequence established in the text. Use the style of the examples shown below, which are based on the formats used by the U. S. National Library of Medicine and also available in here: https://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/uniform_require ments.html. Try to avoid using abstracts as references. “unpublished observations” and “personal communications” may not be used as references. Although references to written, not oral, communications may be inserted (within parenthesis marks) in the text, include among the reference papers accepted but not yet published, designate the journal and add “in press” (within parenthesis marks). Information from manuscripts submitted but not yet accepted should be cited in the text as unpublished observations (within parenthesis marks).

9. Figure legends

Figure legends must be mentioned with clear distinction

10. Tables

Tables should be submitted in separate text file.Total number of the tables will not be more than 5 and a total number of table and figure should be 6. Tables should be carefully constructed so that the data represented may be understood easily. All tables must be identified by Roman numerals in consecutive order before its heading as Table-I, Table-II etc. Every table, every column and every row should be supplied with an appropriate and self-explanatory heading. The table number and the title should be placed in a continuous heading above the data presented. Foot notes to the table may be given, if required to make it explicit, this in the body of the table by Roman superscripts in sequence.

If more than 6 figures and tables are required, the author must explain justification of the increased number of the tables/figures during submission and must mention in the cover letter. Please also submit figures as separate figure files (tif, jpeg, eps, gif) with 300 dpi resolution or better. If there is any chance that a patient may be identified from a photograph or other image or from its legend or accompanying text we need patient’s written consent for publication in the journal. Images-such as x rays, laparoscopic images, ultrasound images, pathology slides or images of indistinctive parts of the body – may be used without consent so long as they are anonymised by the removal of any identifying marks and are not accompanied by text that could reveal the patient’s identity through clinical or personal detail. All drawings should be made with China ink on white drawing paper.
